About H.E.R. Journey

In 2022, one of my biggest goals was just to graduate college. Throughout my four years at my university, I had experienced so much internal turmoil. I routinely fought battles in my mind and in my heart that hardly anyone knew about. Honestly, I just wanted to make it out: out of my mind, out of hurt, and out of college! But, ironically, it was on my college campus where I began to learn how to endure my emotions. During my sophomore year, I felt God pulling me closer and closer towards the word "heal." I began an internal healing journey that same year: it proved to be one of the messiest, most hurtful experiences I've ever walked through and somehow, still, one of the most beautiful processes I've ever committed myself to. 

 

Thoughts and dreams of "Her Journey" as an all encompassing blog & brand came to me in 2022. I believed (and still believe) that stories matter and that our journeys as people are powerful: what we do, what we say, how we endure....It's a message and blessing in it all! Some time between 2022-2023 I wrote the following statement with visions of "Her Journey" in mind: "This brand is for women who feel broke[n], who have been bruised, and who know pain. This brand is for those who are learning to heal and who have the patience to face the mirror in pieces. For the women trying to make sense of nonsense and rewrite their narratives, all while not believing lies of their trauma/ past. For reborn women, who dare to see themselves differently! I see you, healing woman. Each and every part of you is beautiful!" 

 

I saw so much of myself through the lens of those words. I was hurting, breaking, and in pain from my past, but God was showing me the power of rebirth, refreshment, and revival. Dead and lifeless parts of my story and my pain were redeemed constantly through the Gospel and my relationship with God. As I healed (and as God showed me how to feel), I began to see a new person when I looked in the mirror: a joyous person (who didn't need to perform for love because she already had it, swelling up inside of her). 

 

"H.E.R. Journey" is the sum my life's work and efforts (inclusive of my stories of struggle and my hymns of hope). H.E.R. Journey Blog & Brand is a representative collection and culmination of every experience I've had (and will have); it's proof that no matter what you're going through or how hard life presses down on you...you can still win and succeed in life! You can show up and exist as "loved" and "worthy" even if you've previously never felt that way before. 

 

H.E.R. Journey is evidence that there IS hope for even the most hopeless of situations. If you needed a sign to keep going, to keep trying, and to keep believing, this is it!
